Captain America, Volume 4: The Iron Nail, by Rick Remender

3.0

This was fun!

We see whatever Jet Black is upto and well she meets Red Skull and yep it ties perfectly with his Uncanny Avengers run where the latter is the villain and I love that tie in like what will she choose and then we pick up with Cap learning about the NUKE devastation and people lost here, then comes Iron Nail as he frees Dr Mindbubble and well the psychedelic issue is fun too as we see the GUNGNIR weapon being turned loose on the general population and the politics of it all as there is fight and devastation on all sides and its epic and with Cap battling Iron Nail in his dragon form and will he be able to stop him? But at what cost?

Its a terrific volume and sure connects all the previous volume storylines in this epic story and I love the way he fleshes out the villains and also shows the gray sides of SHIELD and showing that even they are not too innocent and the fight here and there and the massive change in status quo here changes so many things for Steve and others involved. Plus Sam's ascendancy sort of continues! Its really a great read and pays off so many issues worth of setting this epic story and forces the reader to ask a lot of question of the real world too!
