Wow, this was such a pleasant (or unpleasant). Read the blurb expecting a nuanced witch hunt story but ended up with so much more. This novel is graphic and raw and covers a number, if not almost all trigger warnings but paints such a vivid picture of a violent and poor Mexican village full of injustices and superstitions and how the towns people suffer in this environment.
Graphic: Addiction, Adult/minor relationship, Alcoholism, Animal cruelty, Body horror, Child abuse, Death, Domestic abuse, Drug abuse, Gore, Hate crime, Homophobia, Infertility, Miscarriage, Pedophilia, Rape, Sexual assault, Sexual violence, Violence, Abortion, Death of parent, and Murder
