Robots have always had a place in the Judge Dredd universe but until Mechanismo they were mostly for humour/ black humour purposes. The stories here are still a bit clumsy, but you can sort of see the seed for what they would become - a contrast to Dredd’s own questions about the Judges and democracy and humanity.
