Rose Madder by Stephen King

3.0

Stephen King will always be a favorite author of mine. Rose Madder had a different feel than most of his books, maybe because the main character wasn't seeking revenge, trying to figure out an issue, or going on a kind of quest. She basically randomly ran away from her abusive husband one day and then tries to live a normal life. Half the scenes are written from the crazy husbands perspective, which was uncomfortable to read because he is obviously a terrible person. The paranormal element didn't feel like it fit in very well to me. It felt forced. And I am a big fan of SKs paranormal elements in most of his other books. This one just wasn't a top favorite of mine.
