You & I, Rewritten by Chip Pons
Did not finish book. Stopped at 21%.
I stopped reading when an inebriated Will called his handsome, "grumpy, cold, unwelcoming" boss 'Teddy Graham' at a work function.
Will was already annoying me. Another reviewer got it right: Will is a late-twentysomething who acts like he's 15. It's cringy and made me roll my eyes a million times. He was so unnecessarily dramatic!
The narrative is repetitive. I only read 21% of the story but I think we were told about how handsome Graham is at least 10 times in that chunk. And for someone who is supposed to be grumpy and standoffish, Graham really doesn't come across that way. In fact, in the bits that I read, Graham seems rather 2D.
I appreciated the trigger warnings at the beginning. Those actually made me more interested in the story because I thought it would be a romance that explores heavy topics. Unfortunately, I think the writing suffers from the same inexperience Will saw in Lana's work.
