if the author put half as much energy into developing her characters as she did in minute details (on and on) then this novel might have been something.

as it turns out, each scene was bloated with scene detailing that dragged it all the way down. even the “fun” moments felt like watching paint dry (if someone was standing beside you narrating each second of the experience from a molecular POV)

i didn’t like the MC (erin) either. she was ~cringe~ (at best) and underdeveloped and one-sided (just as a baseline).

usually i like novels that build up your emotional investment in the story. but the only thing this novel built up was being bored out of my mind while also determined to finish this *flop* of a story.

2 stars only because it had some ~semblance~ of a plot and i wasn’t ~actively~ rewriting sentences in my head as i read them.
