The History of the Kings of Britain by Geoffrey of Monmouth

Fascinating to read these early stories of King Arthur and Merlin as a boy prophet. I loved the story of Stonehenge (interesting to remember that it was a mysterious place even in the 1100s) and of the giant Gogmagog, which I thought ended in kind of a hilarious way.

Honestly the non Arthurian or magical parts were horribly boring and fictional history so I just skipped them.
