I enjoyed this well enough for what it was, and I appreciated the concept behind it: a series of very short fictional stories based on the same writing prompt. The execution was fairly uneven, however, with some of these being really evocative despite their short length, while others tending to come and go without leaving much of an impression. It would be really difficult to make every entry here as impactful as the best of them, given the very short length allotted to them, so the ones that did work are all the more impressive. The entries from Brooke Bolander, Kameron Hurley, and Catherynne M. Valente were probably my favorites.
