Steps by Bea Paige

1.0

As a fan of dark why choose as a genre and of Bea Paige specifically, I have to say I really disliked this book. The premise (which can be found on other reviews) was promising and could have led to so much more. Unlike most why choose, each book concentrates on one of the men, this one on Ivan. Much is made of Ivans obsessive behaviour, his darkness. But its a case of insta-obsession, which can work (ie Haunting Adeline) but in this case, it's not true obsession, it's more of a "Thank You, Next" obsession. A sex addiction with specific kinks. Rose has an instant connection to Ivan, but this is told not shown, yet again being told of his darkness. Argh, it drove me crazy. I felt that characters had no depth to them, and had the one thing I hate...a female who decides she can change the man. Nope just nope. I won't be continuing this series and would recommend Freestyle (I can't remember the series name) as an alternative Bea Paige series.
