A Court of Sugar and Spice by Rebecca F. Kenney

3.0

This is a dual pov that follows sisters Louisa and Clara. Louisa is extroverted, promiscuous, and adventurous. Clara is introverted, artistic, and has wild fantasies but feels like they’ll never come to fruition. They end up in faerie land after saving a fae Prince and work alongside his cousin to save the realm from the evil rat king (this is a nutcracker retelling in the loosest sense of the word).

Of course the prince, Lir, and the cousin, Finneas, are a perfect match for Louisa and Clara respectively.

I liked Clara and Fin - they were the primary reason for the maturity of this book. Lots of sex. But they really complimented each other well personality wise. I liked that Clara’s painting is seen as a true skill and not just a boring feminine activity. She has insecurities but she can see reason and Fin helps her feel more confident. Fin was my fav character in the book. He was really fun, smart, and obv powerful. He saw Clara for who she is and accepted her. He’s pretty sexual but he’s ready to be with someone who wants all of him - not just his cum that tastes different every time
