I initially thought this story was going to be predictable but the ending came out of nowhere. I liked that the real conflict/antagonist was hidden amongst the characters who are trying to solve a decades-old murder mystery. I feel if I re-read it the clues would be there all along. I enjoyed the dynamics and dialogue between the characters, the teenage voice and slang felt realistic and how I would have spoken to my friends. Each character also felt distinctive with unique mannerisms. Overall, a refreshing and shorter mystery read.
