Breaking by Barbara Elsborg

I am so tooooooorn about reviewing this book and hoped that sleeping on it would help.
Here's the deal:
This is an interesting book, even though I'm not a big fan of mafia/arms dealer/assassin books, so I'm probably not the target reader. I wavered between being enthralled by the plot and really switching off at some moments.
It's well written, the MC's are also quite interesting. I even accept the fact that the Conrad we knew before had undergone significant character changes due to the physical injuries he had sustained and I felt that was a plausible explanation.
The power play of two tops didn't really do it to me and I'm not a big fan of "I want to stick my willy up your bum, I know you don't want that but the more you resist and fight me the hotter it makes me" vibe. I understand that it was supposed to be the physical representation on emotional submission but I found myself rolling my eyes.
I preferred the previous book in the series Falling, it was much more gritty, raw and angsty, which I rated 4 stars. Having said that, I can't really rate this one significantly less.
This was a 3,5 star read and I'm rounding up.
