While it is great to see such a diverse range of characters based off of Korean Folklore, much of the plot seemed rushed, with many characters added to expand the universe that ultimately do not impact the story all that much. The exploration of gi within characters (primarily the main character Min using 'charm' in various ways) was interesting and unique to the book. One of the major characters is introduced as a ghost, with the fact that a fifteen year old died was brushed over very quickly, with the character not particularly caring that they died so young. Ultimately it was a fun, if rushed, read.
