Finity's End by C.J. Cherryh

5.0

So good it makes Rimrunners and Tripoint (which are kinda bad and decent, respectfully) feel like rough first drafts of this book. They're all very similar stories, but Finity's End is written much more deftly and believably, with the political B-plot woven throughout and tied back in at the end instead of being sprung on the reader in a few last-minute pages of action. If you only read one of the followups to Downbelow Station, make it this one.
