I liked this book because the characters were complex and dealing with their own trauma without being super unlikeable. I always appreciate when there’s a focus on friendships, and Astrid, Claire & Iris definitely had a loving, long-lasting friendship. I also love to see a queer relationship. Delilah is a photographer, and Claire owns a bookstore. It’s actually the bookstore that Delilah spent a lot of time in as a kid, which is extra sweet.

I was annoyed by the overuse of the phrase “the other woman” It wasn’t in an affair way but rather literally the other woman in a duo. I also didn’t find myself completely engrossed like I am with some romance novels. I think it’s because I found it to be a little slow moving at times. I think partly because of the repetitive language.

Overall, a cute, quick read. Honestly, bumping up the star rating because it’s a queer romance. I feel like representation matters, and it doesn’t have to be the deepest book ever written.
