Me (Moth) by Amber McBride

4.0

I have never read a book written in verse before, and I honestly expected not to like the book very much. I loved it!!! This took a bit for me to get into and find my rhythm, which is why this is a 4 and not a 5 star. Moth and Sani stick with me to this day, and I feel the emotions that this book made me feel when looking at the cover, even if I can’t remember al the details. There were so many beautiful lines that I am going to go back and annotate the book. I loved the root magic, especially coming off from Legendborn which also had root incorporated. I honestly want to do more research and maybe I’ll start practicing. I thought Sani was the one who was dead and he was there to help her grow past the passing of her family. I didnt like the the instalove aspect, but everything else was great for me. I didn’t mind the sadness because bitches be sad and depression is real. Wanting to kill yourself isn’t beautiful, but you can create some beautiful art around it and during it.
