A Hidden Fire by Elizabeth Hunter

Okay, well first off it started very slowly. The 'man' wasn't named until chapter 2 I believe, which would have been fine, except it was almost more confusing. Then throughout the getting to know Gio and B, they keep going back and forth so much that even I was wondering why they just didn't get together and call it what it was. Finally we meet a couple more Vamps, and things go well, we learn about the actual plot and learn that there is WAY more to the story than we knew. Then there are so many names flowing around that I was pretty confused with who was who and who did what. I ended up even more confused when Gio finally decided to explain a bit about what was happening...which ended up with more names. Anyway I figured that at around 85% there would be no hope, then it spun and I was like, yay okay this is going to be a great story. YEAH RIGHT the ending flopped, and yes, undoubtedly I wanted to read the second to find out what the heck the main characters are doing. Then I thought about it and I really didn't care at all if they fix things in the second book. Also I noticed that there are parts that mirror Twilight almost word for word. Could be because they are Vamps, but hmmm really? Overall it was interesting and I liked reading the vamp story, but in the end I was disappointed, it started slow, picked up a bit, then flopped so hard I was actually annoyed that I kept reading when i put it down for a couple days before giving it another go...which only happens in bad stories.
