This was a super slow start. BUT, not as slow as I anticipated! I’m as warned this book setting would be so different from other Maas books, and I was prepared for disliking it. But I really enjoyed the change of pace, and the world building in this book!

I’m still confused by some parts like the first light and the drop and the mechanics of some of the magic but I also flew threw the book because the overall story and mystery of it all had me gripped.

My jaw dropped multiple times while reading the last queatter of this book, and while I kind of guessed “who done it”, the how and why were not quite as obvious. So many good twists and powers moved at the end. I’m super excited to read the next book!
