I wanted to like this, but there was just so much that just wasn't necessary? Again, like the first book, I it ran really slow and just added all this lengthy dialogue. A lot of it just seemed like filler, random plot lines -that didn't amount to much btw- thrown in. The final third of this book was amazing though! It redeemed a lot of what was bothering me, but it didn't really help the fact that I had to go through 400 pages to get to the heart of the story. We did have a lot of character development with characters we didn't get enough of in City of Brass, and I really appreciate that. Made me care more for the characters and the relationships they all had. Even though this series is a mix of feelings for me, I probably will pick up the final book. I just need to find out what happens after all the mess that happened in the final act.
