The First Mistake by Sandie Jones
4.0
Alice’s husband unexpectedly passes away and she is left to pick up the pieces. Luckily, she has her business that her husband helped her start. She then meets Nathan who becomes her second husband. Alice feels like she’s finally found happiness because she has a successful business, two children, and a beautiful house. She also has her best friend Beth, who she trusts wholeheartedly. However, she begins to wonder if her trust has been misplaced.
Overall, The First Mistake was an enjoyable read. I found some of it predictable, but then it also threw me for a loop. The epilogue felt a bit rushed, but it answered the question that the ending left me with, so I appreciate the story being tied up neatly.
If you enjoy domestic thrillers, I definitely recommend this book.
