Hooked by Love by Toni Aleo
4.0
Hockey star baby Jace meets singer Avery. I loved Jace throughout this series. He is so fun and carefree. I liked how he met Avery and how they initially get together so quickly and seamlessly. That first hook up was hot!
Things got a bit angsty and serious from that point onwards and the remaining story only gets three stars from me. I thought the author handled the topic of mental illness sensitivity but it's not really my thing: too heavy. Avery had a shit family; often unbelievably shit. I mean come on! Can a family be that mean? Probably. But it sucked. I just wanted her to be happy! Too much drama and sadness for me. I did enjoy Jace's banter though. I worried he would be dragged down by all the seriousness of Avery but I guess the two balanced each other out so it worked.
The ending was not quite me either. They are so young. I found it a bit hard to be truly happy for them. I'd prefer something a bit fluffier. But that it totally just me. I think this series is great. I really loved all of it!
