Foolish Hearts by Synithia Williams

It always make me happy to pick up the next Jackson Falls installment, and this was a particularly good one. Nothing will ever dethrone Elaina from the position of my favorite heroine, but I've been waiting to find out what was going on with Ashiya and Russell for several books now and was not disappointed. All the ingredients that made the other books great were there: sympathetic leads, soapy plots with believable feelings, interesting family stories and broken hearts in the backstory. Ashiya's newly-met great aunts were a sheer delight and I would honestly love to see them return in a later book. This book introduced a note of real pain with the long-unsolved disappearance of Russell's brother, but leavened it with a lot of satisfying relationship development and snarky old ladies.
