Promise To Marry You by Julia Jarrett

5.0

Camilla Byrne and Beckett Donnelly have been best friends since their second semester of college when Cam sat beside Beckett in class. Truthfully, Beckett had been a goner, but for the longest time, he had to be satisfied with the position of best friend. Due to past trauma, Cam was convinced that she could spare herself the pain of losing loved ones by simply not loving anyone, so she’d always been determined to keep Beckett at a distance. He’s just her best friend.

That is, until her grandfather’s passing and a will that required Cam get married before she could access her inheritance. Her grandfather didn’t want her to be alone, and she was determined to be just that. So, of course, bestie Beckett swoops in to help and just confirms my opinion that Becketts are the best book boyfriends. And did I mention this Beckett has a slight obsession with LOTR?

This is such a wonderful friends to lovers, marriage of convenience story. Beckett takes Cam home to Dogwood Cove where she can heal, surrounded by his family, and more importantly, his charm. Beckett knew there was a good chance he’d end up hurt, but he took that chance to make sure Cam got back on her feet. I loved their friendship, but I loved watching Cam slowly melt for Beckett even more. Between the Princess Bride movie nights, forehead kisses, and his dirty mouth, what other choice did she have? Beckett is certainly the sexiest accountant I know!

I simply adore Julia’s writing style, characters, and stories. I cannot wait to see what else she has up her sleeve for the Donnellys of Dogwood Cove!
