War Brides by Helen Bryan

5.0

This was a really good story. Not nearly as depressing as most WWII stories. Once o got to know the epmen they became like friends - yet the were a very unlikely group of friends - it really was a goid representation of how the war warped expectations.
I lustened to the audio version of this book - 2 notes of discord - in the beginning of the book the accents and affect kept pulling me into the 1800s... so it took a bit before i settled into the 1930s... and then again - in the end the jump to the future was a little jarring - but i have to say thanks for the jump because i really wanted to know what ever became of the twins... one of those questions that would never be answered after the war because nobody would ever know for surew... a very real feeling from a very real time.
Great book
