Meddling Kids by Edgar Cantero

4.0

I loveloveloved it. Imagine an adult and scarier version of Scooby-Doo with a little sprinkle of Lovecraft.

I enjoyed how the writing style shifts in some chapters to a screenplay format, which I thought made the dialogue flow more easily between the characters. (Which is also weird because I usually get confused/annoyed by change in writing style, but I think it fit the vibe of this particular novel.)

Meddling Kids was bizarre and funny and spooky and exciting, and I loved it. It’s also THE PERFECT spooky season read, if you’re into that.

P.S.
This is the second Lovecraft-inspired novel I’ve read this year, which I’m starting to believe is a sign to finally pick up one of his books.
