“Wherever you are is my home, baby. I’d follow you to the ends of the earth as long as you’re in my arms.”

Esther's father has promised her to the head of the rival mafia, Harold Thompson. The man who is responsible for killing her mother and brother. So she does what any mafia princess would do and flees. Alec is the family’s sexy, tattooed, enforcer who is sent to find her what could go wrong.

I loved this book so much. Effie did such a wonderful job making me feel all of the angst and emotional turmoil. Alec is such a sweetie under that filthy mouth and Ester is a total bada$$. My heart honestly broke for both Alec and Ester for different reasons. All Alec wanted was a family to call his own and Ester wanted to be seen for who she truly was.

The spice was spicing and the plot was just as good! This is the first book in the Mcgowan Mafia Series and can be read as a standalone. It is highly recommended to read the series in order though for the full effect! Please check trigger warnings!!
