Black Dossier by Alan Moore

2.0

This volume jumps from 1898 to 1958 with no explanation... so much so I had to check Wikipedia to see that I hadn't skipped a volume. I was relieved to see that there is definitely some continuity from the previous volumes, but was very disappointed that the vast majority of this is the actual contents of the Black Dossier rather than a comic about it. If I wanted to read vast volumes of text, I'd read a prose novel, not a comic - I ended up skipping a lot of it. Sure, it gives a decent history of the League, and does fill in the 60 year gap between the volumes, but to be honest, it would be better to at least *see* some of this rather than just be told about it. The volume does have some good points - good art, some weird bits and pieces, and a great use of 3D-glasses which is the first time I've seen this in a comic.
