I really enjoyed this book because I truly felt immersed in the circus. The only thing I wish is that it had ended when Celia and Marco kissed at the end in their new reality. I would've preferred what was actually the ending to be left to our imaginations. Second best option would've been to have ended with Widget telling the story to AH. The last "chapter" was entirely unnecessary.
I struggled with rating this book because it seems to get very mixed reactions and I thought that I was misjudging a book I enjoyed. Ultimately I ended up scoring it what I did because while the plot and characters might not be as developed as other books, I found that that lent itself to the etherealness of the book. Also be prepared when reading it to keep (loose) track of differing timelines from chapter to chapter. If this doesn't sound like things you'd enjoy in a book, the Night Circus is not for you. However I did immensely enjoy it and think that there are other reveurs out there who will fall in love with it as well.
