An enjoyable story that was easy to read. Although does have some angst based around the fact that the two main characters shouldn't be involved with each other as Paul is the Commanding Officer of a Naval Base and Sean a dependent of a Subordinate at the same Base. Not to mention that Paul is career Navy, and Sean is pretty much sick of the Navy and all the sacrifices he has had to make because of it.
As for the two main characters, I liked them both. I didn't necessarily feel at times they had a lot of chemistry especially in the beginning. When they are just meeting up for sex more than anything. Which was hot, but as the book progressed and they got to know each other and especially towards the end. That's when I felt the chemistry was really there and there were definitely a lot of hot moments throughout this story.
There were also times during this story that I was really hooked but others where I found myself being slightly distracted more so towards the beginning. Certainly the second half of the story sucked me in more, and I really felt all the frustration, hurt and anger that Sean was feeling and was expecting to find that the author herself had grown up as a military brat. As she really portrayed the life not only of a dependent and all those struggles extremely well but that of a Naval Officer who happens to be gay and free from the days of the don't ask, don't tell rule that has been prevalent during his rise through the ranks.
I would therefore happily recommend this book to others, and will certainly be looking out for more books by this author in the future.
