If you want something fast paced and quick to read then you can do a lot worse than this series.  Ignore the unlikely situations Cal finds himself in, the amazing luck he has avoiding certain capture or even death and just enjoy the ride.  Each book is only a few hours read and the inevitable cliff-hangers at the end will have you reaching for the next.
