The Girl from the Well by Rin Chupeco

3.0

Favorite line: 'I am where dead children go'

This book is good, first the concept of a ghost story told from the perspective of the ghost is one I've never seen before. So points for creativity.

And I liked the characters. Tark is the (justifiably) emo teen who's involuntarily thrust into a dangerous situation. Callie is his cousin who insists on coming along to protect him and Okiku is the insane, murderous ghost who likes him.

My favorite part though was the ghost's narration. She's just alien from living people. Talks different, focuses on different things. The formatting was a cool way to convey that. So often supernatural critters are people with special dietary needs and obscure allergies. Making Okiku's outlook so different was a refreshing change.
