Finally, a kidnapping/murder mystery entwined with complex parent-child relationships for men! Just kidding. But really it was a novel experience for me to read a murder mystery where the main character has anxiety about being a shitty dad. Maybe that's on me for refusing to read mysteries penned by men other than Grady Hendrix. Anyway, I love a ghost and a freaky little kid and fucked up parent dynamics. Worth reading for sure.
Graphic: Alcoholism, Child death, Kidnapping, and Child abuse
Moderate: Death of parent
