I'm really glad I gave Olivia Dade another chance after being not so impressed by her Guardians of the Gates series, because I REALLY enjoyed this book! You do have to suffer through a degree of millennial cringe with the heroine, but if you can get past it you will be richly rewarded by a book that is charming, heartwarming, and highly capable of dealing with heavy subject matter in a sensitive way. I also appreciate that Dade always include content warnings at the beginning of her books, so make sure you pay attention to that if you plan to read this! Overall, I deeply enjoyed this book and am looking forward to the next in the series!
