Lynn Nottage is so good. This play earned her her first of two Pulitzer Prizes for drama. It’s set in war-ravaged Congo at a bar/brothel run by a woman who refuses to take a public side about the war, welcoming all who enter. She is bossy and demanding of the women who work there but is also fiercely protective of them and fully aware that all of them - herself included - are safer in this whorehouse than they are anywhere else in their country.
