Death Note, Vol. 1: Boredom by Takeshi Obata, Tsugumi Ohba
4.0
This was one of the first anime I stumpled upon, way to start in the genre if I say so myself.
So this volume, I'd forgotten how truly inhinged Light is. It takes him all of five days to go from "this might be fake" and "This is bad and would make me a horrible person/murderer" to "I WAS BORN TO DO THIS! I AM GOD". Then it takes him maybe one or two days to go from "just criminals" to just killing who he thinks is L, because L pissed him off and hurt his ego. It's kind of funny, but also scary. Then of course there's the fact that he's also the king of eugenics. It's one thing to kill criminals (not the greatest, especially not when power is given to one person), but then he starts in on the whole "rotten people" and people who he doesn't think deserve to live. So that's really something.
