I loved the first one. The sequel was good but the pacing was a lot slower. It felt a bit repetitive and stillted at times.
The characters were well balanced and the plot was good. The merit in this book really resides in the research and way the knowledge about NAGPRA was treated and brought. I learned so much, it was fascinating and gut wrenching at the same time. I felt as though I was being invited in continuing my education in life on Sugar Island and am thrilled about it. The only thing I would add is that I did feel a little lost at times when I read in ojibwebemowin. It would be nice to hav you some sort of lexicon or glossary at the end of the book to refer to.
Miigwech for the list of further reading as well.
