There was so much different from the movie. If you are going into this looking for the movie… this isn’t it.

There are also inconsistencies from the other books. If you read this book 3rd, you will see them. If you read this in publication order, you won’t.

Alice Hoffman’s writing is a very specific style and prose heavy. It reads more as a story being told than a play by play like a movie. I imagine because there is so much time to cover, with the story stretching decades.

I wasn’t as in love with it as I was with the movie… and I HATE that! But the movie is ELITE and so great. This book doesn’t even come close.
