Pia Korbin, is on the run! She was an assassin and whilst on a job she attracted the slimy attention of the mayors son. After being forced to kill him when he attempted to rape her, she runs and escapes on the Galaxy Brides Ship.
Her body had been burned, over 60% of it, during an explosion whilst escaping her home planet. During her trip to Quilixen she has been given extensive reconstructive surgery. Even though she no longer has the scars, she still feels ugly and unworthy.
When Zoran claims her as his bride, she is convinced he is making fun of her. She hates the rules that he tried to have her abide by. She wants her freedom!!! There ensues a struggle for the upper hand.
Both are strong and forceful personalities and there are more than a few misunderstandings. There is a breakdown in their self imposed barriers and the HEA was just perfect. While there were not a lot of sex scenes, there was a lot of sexual tension. The love scenes are forceful and there is BDSM like scenarios but they are not forced and are very much consensual!!!
I loved this series and seeing the story evolving from the differing points of view of the heroines was fantastic. No spoilers but I loved the multi HEA in the epilogue!
