The Fifth Witness by Michael Connelly

3.0

Good writing, clever plotting, pretty typical Michael Connelly book. Once you've accepted his world he drives you relentlessly through the story.
It contains many of MC's usual trademarks: a walk-on part for characters from other books, conflicted but heroic narrator, musical references (not jazz for once), and the occasional poetic line, just, I suppose, to show there's more to his writing than we usually get. Not up there with my favourites of his, but better than almost any other writer in the genre.
