Fable by Adrienne Young

4.0

I liked this book a lot! It was able to keep me interested throughout, something many books aren’t able to do. The main characters are all very likeable, especially Fable. I don’t read many books about the sea, or sailing, so this was a refreshing change of pace.

This book definitely wasn’t what I thought it would be. I assumed most (if not all) of the story would take place on Jeval, the island she’s stuck on in the beginning. Surprise! She gets herself off pretty quick and goes on a little sailing adventure across The Narrows.

I liked the incorporation of gems and their values into the story. I’ve always liked gems and precious stones, so it made things more interesting in that department too.

My only wish is that I had the second book! It seems I’ll have to wait to find out what happens with Fable and her new, found family.
