The Boy, the Mole, the Fox and the Horse by Charlie Mackesy

5.0

A very dear friend gifted me this wonderful book recently and I will forever be grateful.

Where I would normally discuss pacing, characters, or worldbuilding, I'll just say a few things about this one.

I love the art in this book. For me, it exudes a sort of innocence that I can't quite explain.

The text itself will be considered overly sentimental by some. Fair enough, but it hit me right where I sometimes hurt the most. It's basically a long, warm hug in book form and I cannot wait to read it to my own children someday.

If you want a quick read or something you can go through page by page over a period of weeks, read this. If you want to smile, laugh, or cry, read this. If you want to teach your child about love and self-worth, read it to them and make sure that - as an adult who also needs to hear these things sometimes - you are also listening very carefully.
