I enjoyed Gaiman's poem for his comparative overview of apocalyptic visions from different traditions around the world. That the arrival of UFOs or the 'Zombie Apocalypse' are represented up-front highlights how religious, mythological, and folkloric themes persist in a technological, secular setting, an observation [a:C.G. I'm not sure that the final lines worked for me: somewhat bathetic, but perhaps I need to sit with those lines a little longer to see where they settle.
