The Yellow Room by Jess Vallance

4.0

Bloody Hell. I know, weird way to start a review, right? But that was the overwhelming thought I had throughout The Yellow Room by Jess Vallance.

Let us start with a quick overview. The Yellow Room is a story about Anna. She is your regular teenager; she spends time with friends, goes to school and ignores her homework. Everything is pretty regular in her life…except that she has a secret. A dark secret that becomes all the more complicated with the arrival of Edie, Anna’s dead father’s ex-girlfriend. Complicated? Yes. Intriguing? Definitely. Worth a read? Oh. Hell. Yes!

The Yellow Room is a book that had me hooked from the very first chapter. It is a story that you can quite easily gobble in one sitting because Vallance has created a masterful thriller that keeps you guessing all the way through. It is disturbing and really does defy the conventions of traditional YA novels. Let’s just say it, The Yellow Room is brilliant.

The Yellow Room needs to be a staple book in every library and you need it on your bookshelf.

The Yellow Room by Jess Vallance is available from 28th July 2016.
