Tropes:one night stand, unexpected pregnancy, dating the boss's daughter
Steam level: 🌶
I overall really enjoyed this. While the relationship between Daniel and Megan does fall into a repetitive cycle (he wants to marry her, she only wants to marry for love, they decide they should be friends but end up in bed together), I thought they made for a cute couple. The trajectory is pretty clear from the very beginning, and there were no surprises when it came time for the 3rd act conflict. I really liked the family dynamics in general—the relationship between Megan and her father gets a lot of page time, as does Megan's relationship with her sisters, and I thought both were explored and portrayed really well.
Since this is a book that deals with a pregnancy, it might be good to know that there is a paragraph that discusses abortions and refers to the recent changes in abortion laws within the U.S. There is no abortion in the story, though.Â
