liked it but was a bit slow. generally I like a mixture of character and plot driven books. it kind of bothered me that we don't really get a plot to follow but I guess it was intended by the author, as it is supposed to illustrate the dreams of the protagonist and blur reality with fiction so we don't know at times if it is a real dream she had or just a situation in the past she imagines different.

at first I didn't like the writing style and couldn't really relate to the protagonist as it was kind of distant but after the first third I felt really close to her and grew to identify with her more. I also appreciated the writing style as I read further and there were passages that I found quite poetic and beautiful. I found that the relation to her mother was portrayed in a very emotional way that really grew on me.

what I would have wanted to read and know more about was the surroundings and more of the daily life of Lin. sometimes I had a hard time organizing the facts and happenings into a chronological order in my head.
