Dark Waters by Katherine Arden
4.25
Continues to frighten and awe and tug on the heart strings. The eerieness wasn't too the same level in this book, as the supernatural begins to overlap with the real world (the parents) and is no longer contained. I also personally found that the snake/monster thing wasn't as scary in the same way (biological vs supernatural?). However, Captain Sheehan's backstory was heart wrenching.
