The Last Nanny in Manhattan by K. Sterling

4.0

What a sweet start to a new series! I already know these New York nannies are going to be really adorable and fun to read.

Finley (Fin) Marshall is happiness personified - he loves cupcakes and unicorns and bright colors and taking care of children. He went to school for education but found that he could make a bigger impact on children and their families by being a nanny. Fin is extremely caring and sensitive, knows how to make anything fun and goes out of his way to make sure everyone under his care is understood and cared for, even including his newest employer, Walker Cameron III.

Walker Cameron III lost his husband a few years ago and has been grieving while also raising his triplet daughters - Amelia, Beatrice and Charlotte. He’s older, a little grumpy and standoffish and has an established career on Wall Street that keeps him busy most of the day, not leaving much time for his girls even though he loves them so much. Because of his cold upbringing, he’s not really sure what to do with his daughters, how to show them he loves them or how to discipline them for bad behavior, which is why he hires nannies to do the job, even though no one has managed to do it yet…until Fin comes into their lives.

These two were really sweet together once they finally gave in to their feelings. There’s a lot of back and forth, understandably because of their professional dynamic and Walker’s grief, but they figure out a way to make it all work. Fin helps Walker get out of his head and out of his comfort zone while Walker shows Fin that he can have it all, even when things feel crazy. I really enjoyed how patient Fin was with Walker but also how he wasn’t afraid to put him in his place and call him out when he needed it. I definitely could have gone for some more scenes of them getting to know each other more outside of The Killian House, but I loved their interactions with the triplets and how easily they all just fit together. Walker’s declaration at his birthday party made me smile and made me so happy for Fin and the girls.

Really looking forward to the rest of this Nannies of New York series - there’s so many interesting characters introduced here and I can’t wait to see how they find love too.
