The Ivy Chronicles by Karen Quinn

2.0

It was...okay.

I really wanted to like this book. I'm a sucker for books about private and/or boarding schools - actually, most schools - and, having done a fair amount of non-fiction reading on the subject, I wanted to see how a fiction author treated it.

Unfortunately, I had trouble sympathising with the main character. Yes, she has some tough breaks, but frankly, I've read enough books about wealthy characters falling on hard times that I was unimpressed. I'm glad I read this (though I doubt I'll be re-reading it), but between the flat characters and the predictable plot I was hardly wowed.
