Halcyon by Rio Youers

5.0

Halcyon..

Mother moon..

The glam, where are you?

Wow. Rio Youers took me for a gripping and terrifying ride to Halcyon and back again. Martin and Laura are in the throws of figuring out how to navigate their daughters special gift, when tragedy strikes. As Martin tries to pick up the pieces of their shattered life, and give his daughters purpose and happiness, he stumbles across a place that could give them every thing they need.

He couldn't have known that he was driving his family into a nightmare they wouldn't easily be able to escape, if they could escape at all.

In this twisty ride to Halcyon, in search of Glam Moon on Mother Moon's curtails you will be transported to the depths of misery, betrayal, captivity and delusions.

I loved the writing style of Rio in this book. Like you're watching from above, knowing, but not able to help. Watching Martin piece together this terrifying puzzle while his daughters are trapped in the spiderweb of a crazed and delusional woman will throw you to the edge of you seat and set your heart on fire trying to warn him of what he can't yet see.

Rio wraps up this crazy ride with the most perfect ending that I definitely wasn't expecting.

If you're a fan of thriller and suspense novels, and want to dip your toes into the horror genre, I think this book is perfect.

5 out of 5 from me!
