D. J. Krimmer made me cry. Fox was such an emotional experience for me. Fox and Janie struggle through mental health  and moral dilemmas, all while trying to navigate co-running Hel's ink tattoo shop. Janies' father Tony passes unexpectedly. It is up to Fox, Tony's best friend and Janie, Tony's daughter, to work together to keep the shop afloat. Janie or "Jai" is a popular social media influencer struggling with imposter syndrome while trying to navigate this double life she has created for herself. All while keeping the secret of a health concern that changed everything. She is forced to deal with the judgemental staff of her father's tattoo shop as well as her failing social status, all while mourning her fathers death and trying to run a brand and a business.
Fox, Tony's prodigy and best friend, struggles with dealing with Tony's spoiled brat of a daughter while mourning his loss. All while trying to keep the shop running smoothly.
Heads-butt and tensions rise as Fox and Janie battle with accepting their new co-operative business practice. Anger and spite turn to lust and passion. Both try to protect each other from themselves. Mistakes are made, and secrets are spilled.
The passions shared between these characters are well described. Krimmer does an exceptional job with character development. I laughed and cried throughout this entire book. This was the extended version and the additional content wrapped things up beautifully for Fox and Janie.
